I was taking a look at the VDP 5.5 Admin Guide and it looks like you can only perform a file level restore form the guest VM and you need to access the URL from that VM. Only other way I can think to get around it would be to restore the full VM via the vCenter Web Client, log into the VM and then copy the file to the location required.

Hope this helps.

Here is the link to the admin guide:

http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-55/topic/com.vmware.ICbase/PDF/vmware-data-protection-administration-guide-551.pdf

Thanks

MichaelMichaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10740016259613298383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3725872427010598639.post-23522851818197860042014-01-27T18:58:05.440+00:002014-01-27T18:58:05.440+00:00HI Michael,

We were writing the book when 4.1 was still in beta so had to be a little bit careful with what references to 4.1 we made as not all features had been finalised.

Thanks again for the feedback.

All the best,

Simon
www.techhead.co.ukUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13273908918486235100noreply@blogger.com
